Elasticity and resilience

Applications

In soft, wet, or granular ground conditions (such as sand, gravel, and mudstone), the brushes retain the necessary pressure at the tunnel face.
Backfilling and grout retention
A two-component backfilling mixture is injected into the annular gap between the excavated tunnel and the installed concrete segments. The TBM tail brushes confine and evenly distribute this grout, which is critical for the tunnel's structural stability and waterproofing.
Protection of TBM components
By creating an effective seal, the brushes protect the TBM's internal mechanisms, including the main bearing and hydraulic systems, from abrasive soil, water, and grout.
